N2Worship Fall Classes 2011
We are still enjoying the memories of summer camp and excited to continue on this fall. We will have classes on Monday nights for 7 weeks, starting Oct. 3rd, going through Nov. 14th, but we will skip Oct. 31st for obvious reason, I hope :). We will offer two distinct tracks, a beginning instrument track at 6 and an advanced class at 7 PM.
Beginning classes at 6 PM. These classes will be for beginning guitar, drums, bass and keyboards. The 6 PM class will be an hour in length and similar to summer classes in content, but focus on one instrument.
Advanced classes 7 - 8 PM We will be focusing on a unique opportunity. The goal of this class is developing our ear musically. How does one listen to a song, discern the chord progressions and then play them on an instrument? We will begin the process of acquiring this skill. Another aspect of ear training is the process of learning to transpose. If we know a song in one key, how do we transpose to another key? The class will be somewhat of a lab experience for all as we'll be trying several things during our time together and exploring techniques for accomplishing this. We will teach some basics of theory, enough to learn the language, but you'll never pass a theory class with just this knowledge. Lastly, we will apply them to your primary instrument in a band setting. It should be great fun.

Summer Camp 2011
Yeah! Welcome to the fourth annual Summer Worship Camp. We have loved our previous summers and we are looking forward to this summer. The important news: In addition to the amazing musical lessons in the mornings, this year we have a terrific afternoon track for those interested in Performing Scripture.
Dates for the camp: July 11 - July 22
With qualified teachers from multiple congregations in the Austin area, our goal is to help beginner and intermediate level students learn to play and sing more skillfully in solo settings as well as a band setting. Our heart is for the students to become life-long worshipers of our God.
N2Worship 9 - 12 noon, M - F
This camp is for all ages 10 and up. Yes, we know that most of those who can attend are younger because they don't have full-time jobs, but we have students of all ages (even into their 80's) come and join us. Registration fee: $250 (after July 5th: $300) Register online here for the morning worship classes. Early registration payment of $50 will hold a place for you if you can't pay the full amount. The remainder can be paid first day of classes.
Performing Scripture 1 pm - 3 pm M - F
Performing Scripture will be offered as a separate afternoon elective (1-3:00 PM)Come play with us!
We will learn basic speaking and acting exercises and lead students through a process of creating an original paraphrase of a Bible story that puts them in the story. The second week we work on performing the actual scripture text. Register online for Performing Scripture.
